Anatomical specimens of Frederik Ruysch

In his day, the Dutch anatomist Frederik Ruysch (1638–1731) was celebrated throughout Europe for his anatomical specimens.

The detailed explanations that Ruysch published in a series of Thesauri anatomici can be viewed in this text archive. In addition, the archive contains a representative selection of images from the collection of human specimens, which are from the Kunstkamera in St Petersburg.
