The Special Collections are situated in the centre of Amsterdam, at Oude Turfmarkt. The zoological and botanical collections can be found in the Artis Library, near the Zoo, at Plantage Middenlaan.

Opening hours Special Collections
The Reading Rooms are closed on 1 January, Good Friday (25 March), Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (27 and 28 March), King’s Day (27 April), Ascension Day and the day after (5 and 6 May), Whitsun and Whit Monday (15 and 16 May), and from Christmas to New Year’s Day (25–31 December).
The exhibition is closed on 1 January, King’s Day (27 April), and Christmas Day (25 December). The exhibition is open, however, on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whitsun and Whit Monday, and Boxing Day.
