Accessibility of TIN and MCN collections
On 1 January 2013, the collections of the Netherlands Theatre Institute (TIN) and the Music Centre the Netherlands (MCN) were transferred to the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam. This has consequences for the accessibility of the collections.
Access to the TIN collection at Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam in three steps.
Note: the TIN collection, including all books and texts, is no longer publicly available and is stored in depots. Transport of books and texts from the depots to the centre is available three times a day and once a week for the other collections.
Step 1: Search the Vintage catalogue http://vintagetin.adlibhosting.com/default.aspx for the book or text you are interested in.
Post-1945 books and texts can be borrowed and picked up at any UvA/HvA location. Other materials are only available for perusal in the Reading Room at Oude Turfmarkt 129, or in the depot at the Keienbergweg 21 (for large requests or museum material).
Step 2: Request a UvA library card at one of the University Library locations: http://uba.uva.nl/en/services/borrowing/library-cards/library-cards.html
Step 3: Click: ‘Borrow this item? Request here’ to request the item. You will be notified when the item is ready for pick-up.
Items from the MCN collection are only available for perusal at the depot in urgent circumstances. For more information, please contact Ditmer Weertman, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The MCN catalogue is available online at http://catalogusmcn.nl
